Hi Jeremy,

Let me guess... you have a 1 GB CF card. You computer tells you that there is still 400 MB available on it... but your SPD-S will no longer save anything on it.

The reason is that the SPD-S can only manage up to 512 MB on your CF card.

Initially, the SPD-S would only accept CF cards with 512 MB or less. It was getting pretty hard to find a CF card on the market under 1 GB. So last year, Roland came up with a firmware update that allows your SPD-S to use CF cards up to 4 GB.

However, the real memory usage of these cards can only be up to 512 MB.

The update was only done to make it easier to find compatible CF cards but the SPD-S still uses them as if they were 512 MB cards.

Tip: Once, you're done importing your WAVE/AIFF files, delete them from the root of your CF card. This will free up some memory!

Why does my cf say I have 400 mb avail, yet it won't let me put anything else on it? not even a 1mb, wav or aiff.
this was a problem for me on the first card I had, so i bought another, now this one is doing it too, I only have 50 samples on it. They are outside the Roland folder, and in alphabetical order.

Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

thanks

sorry yeah just maybe to clarify a little more, i either have to be on WAVE mode with the selected bassdrum that i am triggering selected, or i have to be on PATCH mode to have all the samples i use available. what i want to know is how do i do both at the same time. im thinking i have to load my bassdrum trigger sound onto the PATCH im using with my samples somehow but not sure if that is right.

HI
i play in a metal band and i use the spds for sampling various sounds and intros for live performances. the problem is i also want to trigger my bass drum, and possibly snare drum, but i cant figure out how to trigger them and still be able to sample at the same time. is this even posssible or am i doing something wrong?
